DWK Life Sciences is able to provide an extensive range of products with different types of certification. This certification includes specific volumetric calibration and conformity certification, manufacturing batch trace certificates for glass media-lab bottles, beakers and Erlenmeyer flasks, technical specifications and conformity declarations, as well as other types of product specific certification.
Volumetric Product Certification
Many of our volumetric products are available with certification for conformity or traceability purposes. Below is an overview of the certification that is offered by DWK Life Sciences:
UKAS Certified Products
A range of Pyrex® volumetric flasks and measuring cylinders is available with individual UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) calibration certificates. As well as detailing the measured volume (at 20oC) and uncertainty of measurement, UKAS calibration certificates also include information on the calibration laboratory environmental conditions (in which the product calibrated) and calibration equipment and procedures used. Pyrex® measuring cylinders are calibrated at five points on the graduated scale. i.e. a 250ml cylinder will be graduated at 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250ml.
Works Certified Products
Class A/AS Works Certified volumetric products (Pyrex® volumetric flasks, measuring and mixing cylinders, burettes and MBL® pipettes) are inscribed with an individual serial number and are supplied with an individual calibration certificate. Pyrex ® volumetric flasks are also marked with the date of manufacture. Each certificate includes details of the actual volume, uncertainty estimation for the calibration and the required tolerance for compliance.
Batch Certified Products
Batch certificates for Class A/AS volumetric items (Pyrex® Class A volumetric flasks and measuring and mixing cylinders and MBL® Class AS pipettes) are available to download from the DWK Life Sciences website as a .pdf document. The batch certificate contains detailed information pertaining to the specific production batch including average volume and standard deviation for the batch.
Azlon® Class A volumetric flasks are also available with batch certification that can be downloaded from our website.
Individual or batch certification is not available for Class B accuracy volumetric products.
Pyrex® Media-Lab Bottles with Retrace Codes
Pyrex® media-lab bottles are used in many laboratory processes but they are also used in packaging, which often has to meet the strict requirements of the United States and European Pharmacopoeias (USP and EP), GMP and ISO 9000.
To meet these stringent requirements, all Pyrex® media-lab bottles are printed with a ‘Retrace Code’. This retrace code allows the product to be traced to the point of production and the matching batch. This code is our commitment to support your quality management documentation and can be easily downloaded from the DWK Life Sciences website by keying in the 8-digit code shown on the side of the bottle.
‘Retrace’ codes can be found on all Pyrex® 1516/: 1517/: 1518/: 1519/: 1520/: 1523/: and 1524/: series bottles.
Pyrex® Beakers & Erlenmeyer Flasks with Trace Codes
In order to provide improved traceability of products used in the laboratory, Pyrex® beakers and Erlenmeyer flasks are printed with a batch code which can be used to trace the products to original manufacturing batch. As with the Pyrex® media-lab bottles, a batch certificate can be downloaded from the DWK Life Sciences website by inputting the 8-digit trace code printed on the beakers and flasks.
